HBLF AWARD FOR DIVERSITY 2022
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 28 OCTOBER, 2022
The HBLF EU Diversity Charter Hungary established in 2016. Our purpose is to further strengthen the commitment of companies to diversity principles. On this occasion, HBLF announces the „HBLF Award for Diversity” for the fifth time in Hungary, which will be presented at the 2022 HBLF year-end and Charter Signing Ceremony.
Why should I apply?
Winners will have the opportunity to be featured in the EU Diversity Charter’s newsletter. The winners will have the opportunity to present their initiatives and achievements at the award ceremony. We will provide free admission to certain HBLF events for the year 2022.
Category for organisations:
HBLF Award for Diversity
A general or focused diversity-related corporate activity that has promoted diversity and inclusion for the year 2022 or a long-term activity with measurable results in 2022.
Requirements:
The applicant has to describe:
– the diversity challenge they want to address (business care)
– the way they have developed diversity and inclusivity (implementation)
– how they measure their effectiveness and impact (metrics, impact measurement).
Who can apply?
– Small and medium-sized enterprises (total number of employees less than 250, annual net sales of HUF 50 billion (2021) or less)
– Large enterprise (total number of employees over 250, annual net turnover HUF 50+ billion (2021))
– non-profit organisations, educational institutions, NGO, entrepreneurs
We pay particular attention to the following criteria when evaluating the applications:
- Effective and creative representation of the values of the Diversity Charter
- Efectiveness: i.g. the range and number of participants (employees, partners) involved in corporate initiative, beneficiaries, efectiveness, generate change
- Adaptability: whether other organisations, leaders can be inspired by good practices, examples, cases

Award for individuals
HBLF Diversity Leadership Award
Recognition of an individual who, in addition to their job duties and responsibilities, has made an additional contribution to society by taking an active role in advancing diversity, inclusion or specific sub-themes of diversity in 2022.
Requirements:
The applicants must describe
– the challenge to which they respond
– the issues and social group they wish to help (cause)
– their personal involvement (implementation), and how they will measure their effectiveness and impact
We pay particular attention to the following criteria when evaluating the applications:
- Effective and creative representation of the values of the Diversity Charter
- Efectiveness: the range and number of participants (employees, partners) involved in initiative, beneficiaries, efectiveness, generate change
- Credibility, consistency
- Volunteering

Conflict of interests:
a) any person who is involved in the application procedure as a contributor or decision-maker
b) a close relative of a person referred to in point (a)
c) a company owned by a person referred to in point (a)
d) a business company, foundation, social organization, church or trade union in which the person referred to in point (a) is a senior director, member of the governing body or organization of the foundation, an officer or member of the administrative or representative body of the social organization, an employee or a contractual partner.
e) the organisation establishing and presenting the award (hereinafter HBLF)
f) who is an executive officer or a member of the board of the organisation referred to in point (e) in the year of the call for applications
Evaluation of applications
The jury will evaluate the formally compliant and substantively suitable applications by comparing the program assigned to the activities of the organization and by ranking the received applications. Winning applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by e-mail.

Award ceremony
The Business Life for Diversity Award will be presented during HBLF’s end-of-the-year event on. The Award will be presented by the President of the Jury and the President of HBLF.
*The HBLF reserves the right to make changes in the event of a possible emergency due to the coronavirus epidemic. The award ceremony may also be held on a digital platform.

Background information
The European Diversity Charter initiative launched in 2004 setting out the European Union guidelines for non-discrimination and pro equal opportunities at the workplace and promoting them among employers. Its purpose to shape attitudes, to commit leaders of organizations to support organizational diversity, while inspiring to the development and re-thinking of HR management.
